# Manage Subscription

> Learn how to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your TicketCord subscription

Manage all aspects of your TicketCord subscription from the billing dashboard.

## Accessing Billing Settings

    Go to [ticketcord.net/dashboard](https://ticketcord.net/dashboard) and sign in

    Click on your profile icon in the top right, then select **Billing**

    Your current plan, billing cycle, and next payment date are displayed

## Upgrading Your Plan

When you upgrade to a higher tier:

1. **Immediate Access**: New features are available instantly
2. **Prorated Charges**: You only pay the difference for the remaining billing period
3. **Same Billing Cycle**: Your billing date stays the same

    From the billing page, click **Change Plan** and select your desired tier

    See what new features you'll gain and the prorated amount due

  <Step title="Confirm Upgrade">
    Complete the payment to activate your new plan immediately

<Note>
  **EU Customers**: When upgrading to a paid plan, you'll be asked to acknowledge the withdrawal waiver for digital goods as required by EU consumer protection law.

## Downgrading Your Plan

When you downgrade to a lower tier:

1. **End of Cycle**: Downgrade takes effect at your next billing date
2. **Feature Limits**: Features above your new limit become read-only
3. **Bot Limits**: Extra bots are automatically stopped (but not deleted)

<Warning>
  Make sure to adjust your configuration before downgrading. Bots beyond your new limit will be stopped automatically.

### What Happens to Your Data

| Item             | What Happens                                     |
| ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| Tickets          | Remain accessible (read-only for closed tickets) |
| Transcripts      | Always available regardless of plan              |
| Custom Embeds    | Excess embeds become read-only                   |
| Canned Responses | Excess responses become read-only                |
| AI Tokens        | Reset to new plan allocation                     |
| Knowledge Base   | Sources beyond limit become inactive             |

## Cancelling Your Subscription

You can cancel your subscription at any time:

    Navigate to Dashboard → Profile → Billing

    Select **Cancel Subscription** at the bottom of the page
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm Cancellation">
    Choose whether to cancel immediately or at end of billing period
  </Step>

### After Cancellation

* **Immediate Cancellation**: Account downgrades to Free immediately
* **End of Period**: You keep paid features until your billing period ends
* **Data Retention**: Your account, bots, and settings stay in place; nothing is deleted on cancel. Closed-ticket content follows your plan's retention policy — on Free, up to 90 days for tickets going forward (see [Plans & Pricing](/billing/plans))
* **Reactivation**: You can resubscribe at any time to regain access

## Updating Payment Method

    Go to Billing → **Payment Methods**

    Click **Add Payment Method** and enter your card details
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set as Default">
    Click the three dots next to the new card and select **Set as Default**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Remove Old Card">
    Optionally remove your old payment method
  </Step>

<Tip>
  We recommend updating your payment method before your card expires to avoid service interruption.
</Tip>

## Applying Coupon Codes

Have a promotional code? Here's how to apply it:

    When upgrading or starting a trial, look for **Have a coupon?** link

  <Step title="Enter Code">
    Type your coupon code and click **Apply**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify Discount">
    The discounted price will be shown before you complete payment

  Coupon codes can only be applied once per account and may have expiration dates or usage limits.
</Info>

## Switching Billing Cycle

To switch between monthly and yearly billing:

1. Go to **Billing** → **Change Plan**
2. Select the same plan but different billing cycle
3. For monthly → yearly: Pay the yearly amount (prorated credit applied)
4. For yearly → monthly: Change takes effect at renewal

<Note>
  Switching from yearly to monthly does not provide a partial refund. The change applies when your yearly subscription renews.

## Common Questions

    Cancelling doesn't delete anything — your account, bots, and settings stay in place, and you can resubscribe anytime to regain paid features. Closed-ticket content then follows the Free plan's retention policy (up to 90 days for tickets going forward).

  <Accordion title="Can I pause my subscription?">
    We don't currently offer subscription pausing. You can cancel and resubscribe later when needed.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What if my payment fails?">
    We'll retry the payment a few times and send you email notifications. If payment continues to fail, your account will be downgraded to Free after a grace period.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I get a refund?">
    Since TicketCord provides immediate access to digital features upon purchase, EU customers are asked to waive their withdrawal right during checkout. Once your paid subscription begins, subscriptions are non-refundable. You can cancel anytime to prevent future charges. Free trial users can cancel without being charged.
